Technical Software Support Engineer

Our Customer Support team is looking for a Technical Software Support Engineer to support APTARE customers, including many Fortune 100 companies, throughout the world.

Your primary role will be to

  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve software application issues including Apache, Tomcat, and Oracle, backup applications such as IBM Tivoli Storage Manager and Symantec NetBackup, and storage systems.
  • Track customer cases in the cases database system
  • Contribute to develop the Support knowledge base

You will also have the opportunity to participate in installations, testing, training delivery and the development of custom applications and reports.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Computer Science
  • History of Customer and/or Systems support of at least 2 years
  • Hands-on experience with UNIX and Oracle or other relational databases.
  • Experience troubleshooting Web Applications (including back-end).
  • Excellent communication skills
  • You must be prepared to demonstrate your ability to maintain and increase customer satisfaction levels while working under pressure
  • You have a proven ability to work remotely as part of a distributed team
  • You must be self motivated with an ability to take ownership of problems and posses superior follow through skills.
  • You are curious, passionate, interested in learning.

Additional skills and experience that are helpful include:

  • Oracle PL/SQL and database administration
  • Experience with backup products such as Symantec NetBackup and Backup Exec, IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) or EMC NetWorker and Avamar
  • Experience with storage systems: SAN, Storage Arrays, NetApp filers
  • Good knowledge of Apache, Tomcat, HTML, XML, JavaScript and Java.
